Retail Spotlight: Sisters of Manteo

The small coastal town of Manteo, North Carolina makes for a great day trip and is home to one of our retail partners - Sisters of Manteo. We recently interviewed the owner, Lacey, to ask about her favorite things to do in the area and see what Artemis products people are loving right.

 

Tell us a little bit about your area! Favorite local restaurant?

We are located in the heart of downtown Manteo, North Carolina. Think Lost Colony...Manteo is a super quaint small town, really a great day trip while visiting the Outer Banks if you want to get that small town feel. If you're ever in town you must stop in! The shopping is great and the food equally so. Our favorite spot for dinner is the Avenue on the waterfront. 

Favorite thing to do in your area?

My favorite thing to do in Manteo is gather street-side for a parade. If there is one thing Manteo loves, it's a parade! My favorite is the Christmas parade, always the first Saturday in December.

Favorite thing about owning your store?

I love getting to work with my mom. I think a lot of people assume the shop is run by sisters, but really it's my mom and me.  I can't imagine doing anything else and it really is a dream job. We work super well together. She makes our storefront feel super cozy and I try my best to convey that online.

What is your favorite Artemis piece and how do you style it?

My Artemis collection just keeps growing, but my favorite piece is my mini duffle handbag. It's just a really classic style, the pattern is eye catching and the colors magically match everything in my wardrobe. I instantly feel ten times cooler when I carry it!

 

 

What Artemis product do you currently covet?

I'm currently coveting a Weekender Bag. They make my Mary Poppins dreams come true! 

What kind of feedback do you receive from your customers about Artemis products?

We have a bit of an Artemis fan club in store. We carry strictly women's, but often even husbands are found admiring the flying carpet slippers! We can't keep accessories stocked. I'm always on the hunt for the next best rug. With everything being so unique, pieces never last long.
