Since our products are made from vintage textiles, each pair we make is completely unique! Even two pairs cut from the same carpet can look very different depending on placement of the pattern, borders vs. interior, etc.
The carpets themselves are vintage, generally with some sort of damage that makes them no longer suitable for use in a home. We repurpose the intact parts as shoes and accessories.
Yes! We photograph each one-of-a-kind product individually, so the two main images at the very top of the page are exactly what you'll receive. Any additional images and videos are other examples of the same style, just to show you what it looks like in action.

"I'm very pleased with the quality of this crossbody bag. Lovely, bright Kilim colors amp up the appeal. There is ample room for basics--a number of credit cards, and paper money.There are two flaps on this bag, an inner flap and outer flap. Even though I haven't stuffed it, once you put the phone into it, it's a bit of a challenge to close the outer flap over the inner one. Perhaps a slight adjustment on the length of the outer flap would allow for easier closure. I hang my keys on the shoulder strap clip.Overall am happy with this purchase. As always, the item came quickly and impeccably packaged."

Ours is a love story; a magical carpet ride started in 2007 when designer Milicent Armstrong first fell in love with shoes and bags made from vintage Kilim carpets on a trip to Istanbul.
At Artemis Design Co., our chain of production is hands-on and handmade. Our kilim products are crafted from hand-sourced vintage textiles, and each pair of shoes takes two full days to create.
