Profiles: Coco, Riley, & Madeline

In our Artemis Profile series, we feature friends, customers, and Artemis community members in their natural element.

In honor of our new Children's Kilim Loafers (released now!), we chose to profile a few very stylish young friends in the Artemis Community.

With every purchase of a pair of our children’s shoes, we are donating a portion of proceeds to The Children's Defense Fund, an American non-profit that focuses on child advocacy and research. Their mission is to ensure every child a healthy start, a head start, a fair start, a safe start and a moral start in life, especially advocating for children who carry the burden of poverty and/or inequality.

Why did you put this look together? Or, what do you love about this look?
I love this look with the red bandana and jeans because it brings out the red in my shoes.

What is your favorite thing about your Artemis Kilim shoes?
My favorite thing is that they're a pair but they don't look exactly the same.

What is your favorite thing about dressing up?
I love dressing up because it makes me feel special and different from other people.

Favorite moment from the past year?
There's so many to choose from...........my top two are the Father/Daughter dance we had at my school last month and when it snowed one morning at our house this past January (it never snows here!).

Who is your style icon?
Susan Turner, who is our neighbor and wears lots of gold necklaces and bracelets. (Susan also wears a lot of Artemis shoes-- seen to the right in Classic Kilim Loafers!).

Favorite moment from the past year?
We got our LITTLE LUX necklaces into Nordstroms!

Who is your style icon?
Iris Apfel.

Why did you put this look together? Or, what do you love about this look?
The Cardigan has glitter sparkles and I love sparkles! I love the shoes because they literally go with anything!

What is your favorite thing about your Artemis Kilim shoes?
Knowing that they are one of a kind and made from a rug is so cool. They fit perfectly and everyone loves them! I just love the colors so much!

What is your favorite thing about dressing up?
You get to be so creative!

Madeline Kagan

Why did you put this look together? Or, what do you love about this look?
My magic shoes, my bird call necklace and my pom-poms on my dress.

What is your favorite thing about your Artemis Kilim shoes?
They make me fast so I can chase my big brother, Mason. And they are comfy so I can feed fruits to all of the animals in the forest (this was news to Madeline's mother :).

What is your favorite thing about dressing up? Wearing all of my favorite things at the same time.

Meeting my baby brother, Hudson.

Who is your style icon?
Talitha Getty, Jane Birkin and Twiggy. (Madeline’s Mom-- I showed her pictures of the greatest style icons and those are the ones she chose in order).
