This Giving Tuesday, we are thrilled to debut a second collaboration with famed designers Nate Berkus & Jeremiah Brent! 100% of the profits from this limited collection will be donated to Covenant House NY, a wonderful organization that serves homeless and trafficked youth.
About Our Carpet Loafers
This unique style has garnered a cult following, and its limited releases are collected by fans all over the world. See photos and read love letters from our community here. All of our Kilim shoes are handmade from vintage, hand-sourced Turkish carpets, which means that no two pairs of our Kilim shoes will ever be alike. The Carpet Loafers pictured are the actual pair that you will receive.
Our Carpet Loafers are inspired by the classic design of a men’s smoking shoe, traditionally meant to be worn with tuxedos. Our Carpet Loafers look handsome with a tux, but go just as well with jeans, khakis, and even your favorite swim trunks.
- Handwoven Oriental Carpet upper--typically wool, or a wool & silk blend.
- Leather sole with 3/4 inch heel.
- Handmade in Turkey in a small, family-owned workshop.
If you plan on using your Carpet shoes for daily walks or throughout city streets, you may extend the life of the soles by asking your local cobbler to attach a rubber sole to them.
The Oriental Carpet textile and leather sole are very durable and will age well with time. Avoid heavy rain or snow, but if your shoes do become a little bit wet, that’s ok; just let them dry out completely and continue wearing as usual.
To clean small stains, blot with a warm washcloth. Let heavier dirt or mud stains dry, and once dried, brush them off with a bristle brush.
